Self at 58

It's that time of year again.

Every year, near my birthday, I try to do a self portrait based on one I did when I was in my early 20s. The original drawing was done as an assignment to learn how the face ages. We were to do a self portrait from the mirror and then, using information on how faces change over time, produce a second self portrait predicting how we would look at age 60.

The two drawings I did for the assignment are reproduced (badly) below.

  1. apparently when you were in your 20's you thought you'd look somewhat girly at 60....but you certainly drew well then too. Nice self portraits...love the newest one best!

  2. Yes, Celeste. I've often thought that 60 year old drawing resembled an old Native American woman.

  3. Handsome then, handsome now...good artist then, great artist now...just maybe a little less hair than you predicted!
